Hedges that give you privacy
In many villas and townhouses, the hedge is what keeps the garden private from the road and the neighbours. To do that job well, it needs to stay thick from top to bottom.
Regular trimming makes the hedge branch out and fill gaps. It also keeps it straight, even and at a height you can manage. Tall hedges such as Leylandii are much easier and safer to keep in shape when they are never allowed to run wild.
Hedge plants we trim
We work with all the common hedge plants on the coast, from formal green walls to flowering hedges.
- Cypress and Leylandii
- Oleander (adelfa)
- Pittosporum and myoporum
- Privet and eugenia
- Bougainvillea
How often should hedges be trimmed?
On the Costa del Sol, most hedges need trimming two to four times a year. Fast growers like Leylandii and myoporum need it more often. Flowering hedges such as oleander and bougainvillea are best cut after flowering, so you do not lose the blooms.
A hedge that is trimmed little and often stays healthier than one that is cut back hard once every few years.
Overgrown hedges and blocked paths
Has your hedge grown too tall or too wide? We can bring it back under control. We reduce it in stages over several visits, so the plants recover and stay green rather than going bare and brown.
We also clear hedges away from paths, gates, garage doors and the neighbour's side. Send us a WhatsApp message or use the form, and we will give you a free quote with no obligation after a visit or from your photos. All cuttings are taken away.
